How to make your business more productive

Faster. Better. More. Every business leader I know spends their days trying to achieve some, if not all of these things. But how do you actually do it?

For most businesses, the answer is to just push yourself harder.

Need more inbound leads? Wake up 2 hours earlier and do some cold email outreach.

Need to create a social media presence? Create your own content and post on your lunch break.

Need to build a budget for the next quarter? Plug away at the cells of a spreadsheet late into the night.

According to Fundera, over 80% of business owners work nights and weekends, because that’s what’s required to get things done.

While there is no substitute for hard work, just pushing yourself harder is a recipe for burnout and subpar work product. You can get more, but you likely aren’t getting faster or better.

As entrepreneurs and business operators, we feel the need to wear multiple hats - often just due to the fact that you don’t have resources. But all these additional tasks distract us from spending time on what we do best - our core competencies.

Hiring is not a perfect solution either.

It's never as simple as just putting some money in and getting some productivity out. Investing in hiring a larger team comes with its fair share of risks and tradeoffs that could leave you frustrated and sometimes worse off.

According to an NFIB survey in April, 91% of small businesses reported receiving almost no qualified applicants for open job listings, leading business owners to sort through a stack of resumes and conduct interviews for weeks without getting any closer to filling positions.

There’s no certainty that making a hire will pay off either. Candidates could decline job offers, or even start, get trained, and be onboarded - but prove to be a bad fit for the team. Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) data shows that over 16% of employees quit in the first week!

Even if you manage to hire, a larger team doesn’t always mean a more productive team. You often get faster and do more, but you have to manage effectively (and hope you have hired good employees) to make your business better.

Worst of all, you may find that perfect employee and spend a ton of time training them, but end up losing them to a larger company that can offer better pay and benefits. A Goldman Sach’s survey found that 42% of small businesses are losing employees to larger companies!

What about using technology?

For the last two decades, software has been marketed as the solution to all your problems. While it’s true that the right software can make your business faster, lead to better output, and help your business achieve more, it’s hard to know what the “right software” is.

This is difficult for even the most tech savvy business people out there. I can‘t count the number of times I bought software that was supposed to make my life easier - only for it not to do what was promised or for it to increase the complexity of my operations.

That frustration drove the Exponent AI team to look for a better alternative, and we think we have found it. The answer lies in AI teammates.

How can AI teammates help my business be more productive?

Our AI teammates are built to easily integrate into your business operations today. We have combined the autonomy of human workers with the consistency of software to create the ideal addition to your business team.

We understand that hiring people and purchasing software are inherently risky because they are a drain on company resources - that’s why we made it so you can get an AI teammate at a reasonable price, with only a week to week commitment!

Simply put, AI teammates let you spend your time focusing on what you are good at, while helping your business go faster, do better, and accomplish more at a fraction of the cost. Schedule a demo today to see how Exponent AI can help your business become more productive.
